Pay day porn: my monthly wish list

In my office, this is one of our favourite exercises in procrastination. Around mid-month, when funds are already starting to wane and our waistlines are doing quite the opposite, we start playing the 'What I'll treat myself to on pay day' game.

I'm addicted to the likes of The Pool's Weekend Shopping Fix and the Weekly Wishlist on Coco's Tea Party, so I thought it might be good to turn my fantasising into a regular feature. So here it is, my first ever Pay Day Porn Compilation:

Midi Pinafore Dress, £38, Topshop

The high street most definitely received the fashion world's 70s memo, and after reigning all summer long the trend appears set to continue well into the autumn. I absolutely love pinafores, and since my mum sadly no longer has her 70s finery (a fact she's taken to exclaiming sadly every time she flicks through a magazine) it looks like I'll have to take a trip to Topshop for the 21st century equivalent.

Animal Print Shirt, £28, M&S

Yes, you read that right - high on my shopping wish list is a shirt that hails from none other than your nan's favourite, good old M&S. Their Limited Collection has been revamped by some young design talent and has a distinct Whistles-esque vibe about it. This shirt in particular caught my eye - I'm a sucker for leopard print.

The Wire: Complete box set, £48.90, Amazon UK

I went on a good old British holiday to Dorset recently, and after staggering the few metres (literally) back to our thatched cottage from the pub, we spent our evenings getting stuck into The Wire. Sadly the box set went home with one of my friends, and I'm having Dominic West withdrawal symptoms, so I might have to purchase the complete collection for myself.

Sweatshirt, £100, etre cecile

Definitely on the extravagant side, but I'll indulge myself as it's my first ever Pay day Porn list. Etre Cecile is a London-based brand that makes the loveliest of French-inspired designs. I have my eye on a few of their T-Shirts, plus this electric blue babe of a jumper.

Hold Your Own – Kate Tempest, £7.99, Waterstones

A friend of mine is currently reading this collection of poetry from Kate Tempest – who you're more likely to know as a rapper than a traditional poet – and she keeps sending me pictures of her favourite quotes. A Ted Hughes Award winner and amazing performance artist, I'm sure Tempest's first ever full length collection of poetry will be worth the investment.

Magic Foundation, £29.50, Charlotte Tilbury

For the non-makeup-nerdy among you, Charlotte Tilbury is a make up artist to the stars who counts Kate Moss and Amal Clooney among her clients. In the last few years she has launched her own hugely successful brand, which this month will be adding a brand new foundation to its ranks.  Sadly I spotted even Lily Allen attempting to move her way up the already-huge waiting list over on Instagram this week, so I might have to wait a bit longer to get my hands on one...
